Eddie Houston Coleman

Eddie Houston Coleman was born on February 1, 1938, in Mobile, Alabama, to Lee and Carrie Coleman. He was the fifth of seven siblings in the family. His early childhood was in Mobile, where he attended elementary and high school. Eddie was a fun-loving, bighearted person, one willing to give you the coat off his back, if needed. One of the highlights of his life was to become a radio announcer for WMOG, the first Black radio station in Mobile.As a young teenager, Eddie was baptized into the Dearborn Street Seventh-day Adventist Church along with other members of his family. Following his graduation from high school, Eddie attended one year at Oakwood College (now Oakwood University) in preparation for the gospel ministry. While at Oakwood College, Eddie was a member of the Vibra Tones, a renown male singing group which traveled in the area singing hymns, spirituals, and old-fashioned gospel. When his educational finances were exhausted, he withdrew from school to join the United State
